What is the standard size of a full front print?

The standard size for a full front print for screen printing is 11 to 12 inches wide by 11 to 12 inches tall. This size square box is usually the print boundaries that a screen printer has to work within. Of course, it almost goes without saying that a screen printer can print much smaller and even larger in some cases depending on the design and the request by the customer.

What we typically look at to determine the size of the design if given at our discretion is whether the design is more wide or more tall. If the design is more wide then a full front print would be 11 to 12 inches wide and the height would be proportional when sized. The same goes for a design that is more tall than wide, we will size the design at 11 to 12 inches tall and the width will be proportional. By proportional we mean that we do not skew the design and stretch it disproportionately. We allow the height to grow in proportion with the width when the design is sized.

If you need help determining what size you would like further your full front print to be, please let us know. The thought process that goes behind making a decision could include a number of factors. Some of the questions that you might ask yourself are:

  • How bold should the message be?
  • How far should the design be seen?
  • How much detail is in the design?
  • what is the majority of the sizes of the t-shirts being ordered?

Those are just a few questions to consider when deciding the size of a full front print. Knowing the answers to these questions can make that decision much easier.
