What is the record for most t-shirts worn by a person at one time?

This might seem like an odd, very specific question, but we think it is a pretty interesting piece of information that will fascinate a lot of people who, like us, are enthusiastic about t-shirts. That is why we decided to cover this question in our Answers section. Consider it a kind of free, cool factoid that we are providing to our customers.

The world record for the most T-shirts worn at one time actually changes all the time and it would be hard to put the number at an exact figure because the record changes so frequently. One guy claims he broke the record in 2006 with 155 shirts, and I've seen an updated record at 224 from 2007. The most recent unofficial claim which came from out of Croatia was of a man who was wearing 245 t-shirts at one time. As you can see figures and estimates vary and it definitely looks like a case of people trying to top each other and beat the previous record.

Perhaps the exact amount doesn’t matter anyway. The funny thing is seeing the pictures of the people after they put the t-shirts on. They transform from skinny people in most cases to sumo wrestler sized individuals. The videos on YouTube are fun to watch as you see the transformation in the credits at the end of the videos mentioning the sizes ranging from Small to 10XL.

Here is a video of the record holder from 2006. Pretty funny stuff!

This one is cool because they keep a running tally throughout the video of the sizes of the t-shirts being used, the quantity of the t-shirts and the weight that is being added by putting the t-shirts on:

It is hard to even imagine what it feels like wearing all those t-shirts and adding all that extra weight to one’s frame. It must make a pretty interesting and unusual experience all in itself. It is also always fascinating to see how they worked out the logistics of what sizes to wear and how many of each size. So what do you guys think? Will there ever be an actual maximum number of shirts that a person can put on at one time? Or will this record continue to be shattered on a regular basis?
