Is it possible to embroider on the mesh sections of a hat?
Yes, it is possible to custom embroidery on the mesh sections of a hat, however embroidering on mesh is not encouraged or suggested.
The process of embroidery uses thread and needles along with backing to stitch a design, and it is known to look, feel, and last longer when it is performed on a material that is tightly woven. And with mesh it has a less dense surface area so it is hard to judge how the embroidery will look or how long it will last. Embroidery is generally a very high quality, durable customization technique, but for designs done on mesh the quality and durability is much more difficult to predict and isn't guaranteed. Instead if at all possible it is recommended that you avoid doing a design on the part of the hat that is mesh and instead restrict everything to the front part of the hat with the full surface. Alternatively of course if it is important to do a design that would need to be embroidered on the back or side of a hat then it is recommended to use a hat that isn't mesh.
Another factor to keep in mind is that for embroidery the number of locations impacts the price. So apart from potentially not lasting as long or looking quite as good, doing embroidery on the back mesh of a hat will also raise your cost per hat. Of course the main thing is that you get a hat you are pleased with and we're always happy to help you with any questions you may have so if you're unsure of whether or not your hat is appropriate for your design just let us know what you have in mind. Remember also that with embroidery the minimum order is six or more pieces and that the more pieces ordered the lower the cost per hat.
